BEST being a large network of universities and students, a lot of work needs to be done to keep improving each local BEST group as well as the organization as a whole. For this reason, BEST organizes a large amount of internal events, only open for BESTIEs which means active members of local BEST groups

When a BEST Group exists in a university, all students can apply external events of BEST which includes BEST Engineering Courses, Leisure Events, BEST Engineering Competitions and more. Students don’t need to be a BEST member, to apply this but when they join a BEST group, become a Bestie, the list of events that they can apply gets many longer. Some of the internal events are listed below as examples:

Workshops (WS)

Most of the work done in BEST is via online communication channels, this can be a long and tiring process, therefore BEST organizes workshops where our members can meet face to face and work on the most important projects of the organisation.

Cultural Exchange (CE)

One of the main aims of BEST is to learn how different cultures work. During a cultural exchange local groups will visit each other for approximately a week; they will live at each others houses and get to know each others way of life, cultural exchange is a unique way of visiting a foreign city, being guided by people who know this city better than anyone else, the people who live there!

Regional Meetings (RM)

BEST consists of 9 different regions, before each general meeting, the regions meet to prepare, they discuss proposals and the progress of the organisation. But regional meetings are also a place where people meet, get trainings and work on common projects.

General Meetings (PM & GA)

Every six months BEST organises a General Meeting, at these meetings members of all local groups meet to discuss and decide upon the future of the organisation. There are two different kinds of events. Presidents’ Meeting in the autumn where all presidents meet to evaluate the work done in the organisation during the first six months of the BEST year, this event lasts approximately 6 days and invites around 150 people. In the spring delegates from the local groups meet again with delegates of the international teams of BEST for our General Assembly, this events hosts almost 250 people for around 8 days and is our highest decision making body.
